  • Will My Student Receive A High School Diploma?
YES! As a Non-Chartered, Non-Tax Supported, Non-Public School, fully accredited by the National Association of Private Schools, Skyward issues diplomas to students who meet the current Ohio Graduation Requirements. Students with an IEP who are performing below grade level in most subjects have several methods for meeting Graduation Requirements and receiving a high school diploma, depending on their Course of Study as listed on their IEP. It is important that the student’s IEP contains the correct language regarding this Course of Study. When your student enrolls at Skyward, we will be certain that the IEP contains the correct language and information needed, and we will assist in the process of getting the IEP revised if necessary. Skyward also works with districts of residence for those students wishing to receive a diploma from their home district. Local districts have different procedures for this. Contact us for further information.

  • How Do I Enroll?
Skyward Academy uses a selective admissions process based on individual student needs. We only enroll those students who we honestly think that we can make a difference for. If we think that your child is not a good fit for Skyward Academy, we will refer you to another program or service provider. Step 1: A One Hour No – Obligation Consultation Meeting and Tour – Please bring your student’s IEP and ETR, Behavior Plans, and any other pertinent data. Step 2: Complete Application for Admission Packet and return with copies of IEP, ETR, behavior plans, etc, along with application fee. Step 3: Schedule observation of student in current placement by Skyward personnel. Step 4: Admissions Meeting to decide on program suitability.
  • How Much Does It Cost?
No doubt about it, a specialized private school education can be costly. Our standard tuition is comparable to the tuition at our city's top private schools. Most of our families use the Ohio Autism Scholarship or the Jon Peterson Special Needs Scholarship to pay for some or all of their tuition. A sliding scale is available for a limited number of students on the Jon Peterson Scholarship because that specific scholarship amount usually does not cover the entire cost. As part of the admissions process, we will determine Ohio scholarship eligibility, other sponsorship availability, and parent out-of-pocket costs. We strive to not let finances alone be a barrier to admission at Skyward.
